Equality and Human Rights Commission chief Trevor Phillips is giving a public talk in East London tonight about immigration and London’s position as a home for people from all over the globe.

He is addressing an audience at the University of East London to explain why London “thrives on its diversity” while other cities see it as a cause of tension.

The talk starting at 6.30pm at the Stratford campus in Water Lane is part of the Vice-Chancellor’s lecture series addressing issues of community, economy and Human Rights, against the backdrop of the 2012 Olympics.
