The latest edition of the London Underground pocket map now available has a new cover design that puts the tube network in the palm of your hand.
The design by Michael Landy, 48, is a tracing of his own hand in pencil—with the creases represented by lines drawn in the colours of the Tube map.
Mr Landy, a lifetime member of the Royal Academy of Arts who grew up in east London, works from a studio in Bethnal Green’s Vyner Street.
He got his inspiration commuting on the Central Line from Bethnal Green station.
His work commissioned by Art on the Underground for the pocket tube map represents a personal journey for every passenger to hold in the palm of their hand.
