TUBE workers will be going on strike next month in a dispute over 800 proposed job cuts.
The first of a series of 24-hour strikes by Rail Maritime and Transport and Transport Salaried Staff Association members will be on Tuesday September 7.
Staff are protesting about management’s planned reduction in ticket offices which will see ticketing staff lose their jobs.
London Underground said that with the growing popularity of Oyster cards some stations are selling less than ten tickets an hour at their offices and it is uneconomic to keep those booths open.
