Dr Anita Sturnham, host of TV show Embarrassing Bodies and the Alan Titchmarsh Show, swapped her stethoscope for a spoon to serve up a hot breakfast for students, parents and staff at Mayflower Primary School on Friday (June 20).
The visit was one of eleven across London in the London’s Biggest Breakfast drive, backed by the Magic104.5 radio station, Greggs bakery and London Mayor Boris Johnson’s Fund for London, to reach 2,500 children in 60 schools.
Dr Sturnham said: “Children need fuel to provide them with energy for a morning of learning, concentrating and playing. “Breakfast provides that fuel. Breakfast is vital for enhancing your child’s physical and mental performance, as well as their ability to learn.
