TV actress Meera Syal opens a fundraising ‘Memory Walk’ at the Tower of London for the first time in its history next month.
The star of The Kumars at Number 42 and Goodness Gracious Me takes the first step in the Alzheimers Society’s flagship event for a relative with dementia and is calling for others to sign up.
“I’m walking for a close family member living with dementia,” she said. “I’m also walking for all of my friends whose loved ones have been affected by this cruel condition. We’ve received invaluable support from Alzheimer’s Society.”
Organisers are inviting wellwishers to join Meera for the sponsored London Memory Walk around The Tower in September 5.
