TWO Catholic peace campaigners are reported to have been arrested at the Arms Fair at Excel.
Katrina Alton and Fr Martin Newell, who are members of the London Catholic Worker group, are believed to have daubed red paint on a sign advertising the Defence Services Export International fair in the Docklands.
The pair who live and work with refugees in Hackney then reportedly raised a banner which read "Forgive them Father they know not what they do" and knelt in prayer for 45 minutes before they were arrested for criminal damage.
The four-day fair, organised by Clarion Events, is one of the world's largest arms fairs and more than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries are displaying weapons and equipment.
