TWO men have been charged with attempted murder after a man was set on fire as he walked in an East End park earlier this month.
Detectives investigating the attack on 25-year-old Rizwan Ahmad in Mile End Park on November 2 have charged 22-year-old Jermaine Joseph, unemployed from Langdon House, Ida Street, Poplar and 20-year-old Shane Dedman, unemployed of Pennyfields, Limehouse.
They both appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on Saturday, each charged with the attempted murder.
Rizwan was found staggering around in a state of shock in the park and remains in a serious condition in a specialist burns unit.
