Two-day Bengal spring festival planned by Museum of London Docklands

A festival of Bengali culture organised with the Bangladesh community is being staged at the Museum of London Docklands at the end of the month.
The two-day family event has music performance and dances, craft workshops and cultural talks by leading community figures.
“We’re lucky to have one of the country’s most vibrant Bengali cultures,” museum festival coordinator Aisling Serrant said. “We are in collaboration with the community.”
A discussion on the opening day explores historical links between Bengali travellers and London’s docks and there are talks on Bengali culture.
Activities include henna tattooing, spring headdress-making, print and poetry workshops, storytelling and snack-making masterclasses.

The Bengali spring festival runs Saturday and Sunday, March 31 to April 1, at th Docklands museum in Canary Wharf’s West India Quay, open 10am-6pm daily and free.
