TWO passengers had to be rescued when they were trapped in a three-car pile-up at the Bow Flyover in East London.
A woman in her 50s had to be cut free from the front passenger seat of a Fiat and a middle-age man from the front of a VW in the collision on the A11 on Saturday evening.
Both had neck injuries and were taken by ambulance to hospital after rescuers managed to cut open the roofs of both vehicles to reach them. They were brought out by paramedics on spinal stretchers.
Both drivers and the driver of a third vehicle involved, a BMW, escaped injury. Two lanes were closed off during the rescue operation on the westbound carriageway.
