Two women killed as car hits house

A MAN recovering in hospital after a car smash in which two women passengers were killed in East London has been arrested by police

POLICE have arrested a man recovering in hospital after a car smash in which two women passengers were killed in East London at the weekend.

The driver in his 20s is in a stable condition at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel with a partially collapsed lung and broken arm. He has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, Scotland Yard has confirmed.

The man was rescued from a BMW which smashed into a house (pictured) at Forest Lane in Stratford early Saturday morning. Two women passengers in the car, also in their 20s, died at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about Saturday’s crash in Forest Lane at 7.15am to call 020-8597 4874.
