SIX videos have been produced by London tourist organisations this week to give an insider's view of shopping, dining, culture and fun off the beaten track.

The short videos take you away from the well-trodden tourist paths of the City and West End to sample the 'real London' and have been put together by the people who actually live and work in the areas.

One video focusing on London's thriving East End includes the famous Whitechapel Art Gallery, the nearby Wilton's Music Hall, the oldest surviving grand music hall on the planet built in 1858, and Bethnal Green's Museum of Childhood.

Another video looks at East London's Victoria Park and the hip boutiques of Victoria Village in South Hackney, while a third takes in Tower Bridge and the Southbank. Others cover Greenwich, Hounslow and Richmond with Kingston-Upon-Thames.

The videos which can be viewed on the Visit London website are funded by London Eastside and by London Councils to help local authorities outside Central London promote tourism in their areas.
