For some reason, Transport for London have changed the bus stop closest to John Lewis and Waitrose at Canary Wharf making it no longer available for passengers to get to the Isle of Dogs.

Do the bureaucrats who make these decisions not realise that for the elderly, disabled, people with children or just customers with bags of shopping who use public transport, a walk to a distant bus stop should not be an imposed option?

This is a classic example of the lack of thinking that goes into decision making.

Recently TfL faced criticism from Isle of Dogs residents who use the Thames Clipper Riverbuses when the stop at Masthouse Terrace mysteriously disappeared from a consultation document. Cllr Andrew Wood, myself and numerous residents raised this with TfL and were told that this was a “misprint”.

TfL are under no illusion that Island residents have noticed this “misprint” and will oppose any attempt to make it permanent. With the continuous scale of local development, the Island cannot afford to lose any of its existing infrastructure.
