A POLITICIAN who once said Gordon Brown had transformed from Stalin to Mr Bean will be entertaining an audience in Bethnal Green.

Vince Cable, the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats and Shadow Chancellor has impressed commentators with his grasp on the economic crisis and his book The Storm which covers it.

He is speaking at an open public meeting at Oxford House in Derbyshire Street at 7pm on Thursday.

The event will be chaired by East London Advertiser editor Malcolm Starbrook.

Mr Cable will be giving his backing to the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bethnal Green and Bow Ajmal Masroor.
