VOLUNTEERS are being urged to come forward to help transform a waterside area of the East End.

Charity Thames 21 will be working alongside the canal at Limehouse Cut to help clear up rubbish and overgrown vegetation.

Other tasks include graffiti removal to help spruce up the area.

It's the first time that Thames 21 has teamed up with the London 2012 Changing Places scheme.

It will be running two clean up days on Saturday September 19 and on Saturday October 24.

Volunteers should meet at Thames 21's Gillender Street office at Bow Lock. All equipment will be provided but helpers should wear scruffy clothing.
