SCORES of people wobbled their way around Victoria Park on Sunday to raise awareness of a rare brain condition which makes people appear drunk.

Around 70 people took part in the five kilometre Wheely Wobbly Walk around the park to raise awareness of ataxia which makes walking in a straight line virtually impossible for sufferers.

Some participants walked or ran the course, while others scooted, roller skated or took part in their motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

Participants ranging from two to 72 enjoyed the walk in the sunshine and a picnic afterwards.

So far over 1,000 has been raised to support people with ataxia and fund research into a cure for the condition.
