COMMUNITY leaders in Wapping are thinking about setting up their own council to have more of a say.
They are considering forming a parish council in Wapping which would mean they would have to be consulted by Tower Hamlets issues such as planning.
Tower Hamlets would also have to give a parish council cash, or a precept.
Liberal democrat activist Geoff Juden said: "Authority for the designated area would be in the hands of the local parish council, therefore accountability would be brought to the local people."
