EAST Enders are being warned about the dangers of mixing sex and alcohol as Sexual Health Week kicks off next week.

NHS Tower Hamlets is backing the national campaign with a range of events going on across the borough from Monday.

Health chiefs insist drinking too much can lead to "impaired judgment and carelessness" and puts people at risk of getting sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancy.

And the safe sex message is being publicised around the borough through posters and leaflets.

On Tuesday, the health team will be on-hand at the Whitechapel Idea Store in Whitechapel Road from 10.30am-3pm and at the Chrisp Street Market next Thursday from 11am-3.30pm, when visitors can take part in quizzes and activities to win prizes.
