The unseasonably sunny weather has brought people in Tower Hamlets out into the borough’s parks in their droves over the Easter weekend - but there could be rain on the way for the Royal Wedding.

Temperatures of 25 degrees centigrade in the capital meant Mile End and Victoria Parks were full of sun-worshippers grabbing the chance to enjoy the hot weather and a four-day weekend.

And the sunny weather is set to continue today with highs of 23 degrees centigrade predicted for London but from tomorrow, temperatures will cool and there is the chance of light April showers on Friday as Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot.

The sandpit and children’s playground in Mile End proved popular with youngsters on Saturday as our photos show but adults were equally keen to play around in Victoria Park by organising their own wheelbarrow races while others preferred to take it easier by relaxing in the sun.
