SOME people were able to make the most of the wintery weather as snow turned the East End picture postcard pretty for the third day in a row.

Schools, including Bethnal Green’s Raine’s Foundation, Shadwell’s Bishop Challoner, Bow’s Old Palace Primary School, Stepney’s John Scurr Primary and Children’s House Nursery in Bow are closed because of the weather, giving pupils a chance to play in the snow.

But it wasn’t all good news and commuters trying to get in for work were faced with delays on public transport. Although most Underground lines are running a good service there are delays on the Northern, Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith and City Lines and train services from Liverpool Street are badly affected disrupted with National Express East Anglia warning passengers to stagger their journeys due to severe disruption because of the bad weather.

Have you got the day off today? Are you building a snowman, an igloo or an ice sculpture? Or are you just planning a walk in a wintery park? Send us your snow photos at ela.editorial@archant.co.uk
