In just over a week, Leyton Orient will discover their fixtures for the new League Two season.

On Wednesday June 22 at 9am, we will discover who O’s face in the opening day of the season, whether it is home or away and when some old faces will return to Brisbane Road.

Last term, Orient started the campaign by hosting fellow Londoners Barnet, who had just been promoted, and it went well.

Ian Hendon was in charge in August 2015 and goals from Jay Simpson and Paul McCallum in the space of one second half minute ensured a win on the opening day of the season.

Andy Hessenthaler, who was number two that day, is manager now and will hope to begin his reign just as strong.

With AFC Wimbledon promoted last season and Dagenham & Redbridge relegated, the only clash with a London team will be with Barnet so once again eyes will be on when they face the Bees.

Other important fixtures for the diary include when Kevin Nugent and Kevin Dearden will return to Brisbane Road alongside Scott Cuthbert.

The clashes with Colchester United will have interest as does the O’s trip up the M11 to Cambridge United.

Matches against Exeter City and Doncaster Rovers have added importance as Lloyd James and Mathieu Baudry joined those respective clubs this summer after leaving east London.

The League Two season kicks-off on August 6 and ends on May 6, 2017 with the play-off final set to take place on May 28.
