Joshua Ashley launched his new personal fitness trainers app with a fundraiser for the ‘Apples and Pears’ cockney charity in London’s East End that runs weekend outings for children.
The launch with 17 families was held at Sir John Cass Secondary School in Stepney.
Pupils brought in from Marion Richardson Primary were paired with Marner Primary pupils to encourage new inter-school friendships and to promote team spirit.
“We are hoping to run more events like this in the New Year and a summer sports day to create community spirit,” Joshua explained. “We’re confident we’ll see a lot more faces turning up.”
The 22-year-old entrepreneur from Whitechapel set up his ‘Vyta’ on-demand app where his customers can track their personal trainers before a session to meet at home or in a park.
His ‘Apples and Pears’ charity promotion ironically was staged in the ground-floor secondary school gym—so there were no “apples and pairs” to climb.
