Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder believes fans inside Sixfields Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) will be treated to an exciting game as League Two leaders Leyton Orient visit.

Ian Hendon’s team make the trip to the Cobblers with 17 points from their opening eight league fixtures, but without a win since August 29.

Northampton, on the other hand, have started to find some confidence and beaten Morecambe and Oxford United in recent weeks.

Their manager insists they will be going all out for a third successive success tomorrow afternoon against the O’s.

Wilder said: “We are playing the team top of the league, the handbrake will be off and let’s go for it. We’ve had two good performances and results and we want to make it three on the spin.

“I’m hoping and I’m expecting us to kick on but Leyton Orient will believe they can come here and win. Both teams will be going for the three points and there will be a lot of good attacking players on show.”

The Northampton boss praised Hendon’s side for the way they have begun their League Two campaign.

He believes they could well go straight back up this year and conceded this weekend’s match is a great opportunity for his team to test themselves.

Wilder insists the encounter at Sixfields is probably the best fixture of the weekend in the division as well, he added: “Leyton Orient have started the season in fine form.

“I’d think out of all the teams that came down they would definitely be the one expected to bounce back straight away.

“They have got off to a great start and it’s up to us to put a dent in their promotion charge and at the same time enhance our recent form and points tally.

“We are desperate to be consistent, we want to play against the top teams in the division and it’s a great opportunity for us. I’m sure there will be another good crowd in and looking at it I’d say it’s probably one of the stand out games of the day in our division.”
