Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman pedestrian died in Shoreditch in an accident involving a lorry along City Road.
She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene soon after mid-day yesterday at the corner of Westland Place, outside Renaissance antique furnishings store. Her family have been informed.
The 44-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of “causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drugs and drug driving”, Scotland Yard confirmed today. He was detained by police after the incident.
