Navaeh Thomas-Birch enjoyed success in Croatia recently at the World Karate Federation Youth Championships
Tower Hamlets youngster Nevaeh Thomas-Birch was celebrating last weekend after claiming silver at the World Karate Federation Youth Championships.
Thomas-Birch was part of the Veras Academy squad making the trip out to Umag, Croatia for a week.
She trained at the World Karate Federation youth camp before taking part in the World Championships.
Competing in the 10-12 age category at -35kg, the Tower Hamlets talent come through four difficult rounds to reach the final.
Unfortunately she couldn’t claim gold in the final, but could be proud of her medal-winning efforts on foreign shores.
While Thomas-Birch left with an impressive silver, her team-mate Jack Gentili-Walsh managed to go one better.
He won gold in the 10-11 age category in the -30kg event to ensure he claimed top spot in the world.
Sensei Raphael Veras took the squad to Croatia and would have been proud of their achievements.
