Bethnal Green Sharks have made a good start to the new Mini League season.

They shared first place with Leyton at Cathall Road, with Emma Worley, Lila Paulding, Yoana Tordova and River Goss winning their 50 metre backstroke races.

Goss and Dennis O’Brian won their 50m freestyle swims, as Pelham Cummings-Higgs had a 50m butterfly victory.

The mixed 8x25m freestyle relay squad of Alice Hall, Edward Buckley, Tordova, Nicholas Garcia, Emily Bonfante, Zaid Miah, Maya Kennedy and Patrick Buckley were also successful.

Sharks added another 13 wins at Thamesmere to win the second gala ahead of Leyton, with Eva Newman, Bonfante, Cummings-Higgs and Goss taking their 50m backstroke.

Goss, O’Brian and Tordova added freestyle wins, with Cummings-Higgs and Thomas Roberts enjoying butterfly success as Paulding won her breaststroke.

The 4x25m freestyle relay squad of Malakai Woods, James O’Brian, Lukas Dirse and Teddy Scully also won, as did the mixed 12 years freestyle relay squad of Hall, James and Dennis O’Brian, Paulding, Cummings-Higgs, newman, Goss and Tordova.

The mixed 14 years squad of Isla and Thomas Roberts, Tordova, Cummings-Higgs, Bonfante, Goss, Emily Simms and Dennis O’Brian completed the list of winners to the delight of manager Sophie Kussan.
