The latest news from the local boxing scene

Four Limehouse Boxing Academy prospects took part in a charity dinner show at the City Grange Hotel near Tower Bridge last Friday.

The youngsters were fighting on the charity show that had been jointly arranged by England Boxing and the Change Foundation.

Madalin Potop opened the show, but lost on a very close split decision to Norwich 45kg rival Kristian Webster.

Potop was followed by 56kg fighter Louie Horn, who won with a second-round stoppage against Marshall Gott from Sheffield-based Parsons Cross.

The Limehouse performances of the night came from youth boxer Reda Affelad and senior fighter Marius Potop.

Competing at 62kg, Reda outboxed rival Max Forster from Fisher and won every round to triumph by unanimous decision.

Potop, meanwhile, took North Mersey rivals Joe Moylan at 69kg and also recorded a unanimous success.

It was a fine night of performances from Limehouse Academy fighters as the club continues to enjoy great success this season.
