Boxer takes on Jacek Wylezol on Saturday

Ohara Davies believes he can end his fight against Jacek Wylezol early when he steps into the ring on Saturday night.

His opponent is ranked the fourth-best lightweight in Poland and has won 11 of his 18 fights.

It will be Davies’ sixth contest as a professional and he is confident that he can win inside the distance.

“It’s scheduled to be a six rounder. Eddie has said I will be getting a tougher opponent who should take me through the rounds,” said Davies.

“But the way I am looking in the gym and in sparring, I really doubt the fight will go more than three rounds.

“I am 5-0 and I am happy. I am glad to be signed with Matchroom Sports because I am busy, and that is what I asked for.”

The fight takes place on the undercard of the WBA world light heavyweight title fight between Juergen Braehmer and Robin Krosniqi.

And the Londoner admits he is excited about being a part of such a high-profile bill.

“When I got the call it was total excitement. It will be a great experience to do it as a professional,” added Davies.

“I am fighting on the undercard of a world title for the first time. It will be a really big show.

“It is a great experience which should help me later in my career.”

Davies’ lightweight bout takes place at the StadtHalle in Rostock, Germany.

It marks his first fight outside of the UK as a professional but it is not something that will faze him.

“I don’t think it will be any different from fighting abroad as an amateur; as long as I have worked hard and am confident in my skill then I don’t see it being any different.

“I want German fight fans to remember me as a skilful, exciting fighter to watch. I want to leave that impression on them.”
