Repton boxer Nadar Sebbar and Phil Bowes lifted London ABA novices titles alongside Lansbury entry Abdul Hannan at York Hall on Sunday.

Sebbar made sure of the 60kg Class A award with a win over South London rival John McCorry.

Fisher BC entry McCorry came though a semi- final earlier in the day, but failed to win as his Repton rival dominated the final and took the title

Also winning for Repton, Phil Bowes enjoyed a semi-final bye in the Class B 64kg section, while rival Jim Garton (Double Jab) beat Islington fighter Jack Woodward.

In the final it was again the Repton hope finding the target with effective attacks to take the honours and move forward to the national quarter- finals at the Five Star club Harold Hill on Sunday.

Also lining up with the national quarter-final entries will be Class A 54-kg entry Hannan (pictured left).

He gained a walkover to triumph at York Hall and enable the fast-improving Lansbury BC to celebrate a London title success.

However, there was disappointment for other Repton entries in action at the London finals.

In the Class A 75kg semi-final Michael Norgrove proved too good for Pat Bora (Big T) however it was a different story in the final when Al Nkalonatia (St Pancras) outgunned the Repton entry to take the title.

Fancied Repton entry Carlos Dwyer suffered a shock in the Class A 81kg semi-final when he suffered a second round stoppage against Jon Young - (Fitzroy Lodge) who went on to win the title against Al Fry - Balham.

l TOMMY BUCKLEY, Repton's national schools winner punched out a points win over John Wheats (Studland BC) at Portsmouth on Saturday night.

Also showing winning form on the South Coast show was new boy John Baker swarmed all over rival Ray Black (Isle of Wight) for a first round win.

Repton winner Jordan Tompkins came through a battle of unbeaten prospects when he outpointed Sam Rahman with a bright display on the Eaglesham show last week.

Also winning in style was Ben Channing slammed out a points success over Matt Maugham.

Harry Dighton added to Repton's winning list when he boxed his way to a unanimous points win over Westree slugger Lee Poscer .
