European medallist Dennis McCann outpointed visiting star James Probert as Repton’s elite junior squad trounced a powerful Welsh line-up in Kent.

Team captain McCann gave a punch perfect display to deserve his split verdict on the show where Charlie Smith sparkled as he outpointed Carmathen’s Jayden Edwards.

The top home boxer of the day award, on a show sponsored by Powerday, went to Alfie Gaskin after his impressive points victory over Welsh youngster Aaron Jones.

Luke Hilden was a good winner in his third bout for Repton, outpointing Port Talbot’s Dylan Edwards, and home newcomer Elijah John Moore outscored Premier BC’s Philip Price.

Meanwhile, Repton’s 2016 National champion Mark Baker landed the clean shots to outpoint Welsh title-holder Harrison Day and saw cousin Tom also earn a decision over tough Welsh rival Kieran Bevan.

Kenny Smith and William Harbour maintained Repton’s winning form by outpointing Adam Lawrence and Scott Richards respectively.

And Jorge Anderson also sparkled as his accurate punches produced a unanimous points win over triple Welsh champion Liam Thomas.

Another National title-holder in the home squad, Roberto Lacourt, clinched a split verdict win over Korben Crocker and European medalist Charlie Hickford’s body punches rocked Welsh champion Jake Turnbull in the opening round before the referee intervened.

The Repton victories continued as Miley Chalk and Benny Eastwood took unanimous verdicts over Lewis Bagley and Billy Johnson, while other home wins came from Adam Mohammed and George Smith against Garan Croft and Joe Morgan, respectively.

A tight verdict went in favour of visitor Ioan Croft against George Mitchell, but London CYP champion Joel Bannon scored his third win in a week as he outpointed Harley Griffen to see Repton finish 17-1 winners in the team match.
