REPTON boxers were on cloud nine at the season-opening tournament at Bethnal Green Technology College on Saturday.

Middleweight Mike Norgrove - one of nine home club winners on the day - climbed off the canvas in the first round against Alex Kelesikov before clinching a points victory over his Hayes rival.

Lucien Read was a points

winner over Faversham opponent Adam Thomas, while Sam Bezzina put in a last round rally to outscore Mike Kelly, also from Faversham.

Chris Ali, Danny Love, Adam Playdell and classy prospect Obie Coates were also

triumphant but national champ John Lee King suffered a split-verdict points defeat against Northolt rival Khaliq Miah.
