The talented athlete travelled to France recently and returned with a bronze medal to show for her efforts
Tower Hamlets youngster Nevaeh Thomas-Birch had plenty to celebrate recently after securing a bronze in a competition in France.
The Veras Academy member travelled to another part of Europe looking to impress in one of the most competitive karate events around.
Competing in the 10-11-year-old category at -30kg, Thomas-Birch showed her potential with a string of battling displays.
She sailed through the first round with a 9-1 victory, but then lost out to the eventual winner of the competition by a score of 5-3.
In the final repechage round, Thomas-Birch produced a strong performance to push through and get a 3-1 victory and with it a bronze medal.
The Tower Hamlets youngster held on tighly to her reward throughout the journey home on the train and is now preparing for her next competition.
Thomas-Birch is likely to be in action again very soon where she will look to go even better.
