Archant London sat down with tipster Martin Girdwood of Girdys Gee Gees to look at some of the week-long markets at this year’s Cheltenham Festival

The Cheltenham Festival is back this week and Archant London sat down with tipster Martin Girdwood of Girdys Gee Gees to take a look at the week ahead.

With plenty of top-quality racing ahead over the course of the next few days, Martin has had a look at some of the markets which should run the entire week.

In the top jockey market, Martin has plumped for Nico de Boinville, who is available at odds as long as 12-1 at the time of writing.

With de Boinville riding for Nicky Henderson, Martin feels the Englishman can finish as top trainer, with a current best price of 9-4.

And after tipping English trainer Henderson for plenty of wins, Martin believes Great Britain will come out on top in the Prestbury Trophy at this year’s festival, with a current best price of 2-1.

With the racing action set to get underway on Tuesday, hopefully Martin has provided some tips to get you in the mood for the 2018 Cheltenham Festival.
