North East London Cricket League: Stoke Newington thirds (130 all out) lost to The Camel (157 all out) by 27 runs

A splendid five-wicket haul from Max Sedgley helped The Camel beat Stoke Newington thirds by 27 runs in the North East London Cricket League.

After winning the toss, The Camel elected to bat first, but the visitors’ innings was stop-start.

A composed knock from David Sendell and attacking flair of Richard Hagan were among the bright spots for The Camel.

However, the youthful Stoke Newington bowling attack performed well and had The Camel all out inside 31 overs for just 157.

The Stoke Newington openers strode to the wicket full of confidence, but their reply got off to a shaky start, losing their first wicket in the first over.

Stan Boycot (17) and Joe Bairstow (24) produced dogged innings for the hosts before departing.

However, it was The Camel’s bowling attack who impressed the most, with Sedgley taking half of the wickets to fall.

In the end, Stoke Newington were all out for just 130 in reply after 33 overs, leaving The Camel to celebrate.
