Latest news from the Essex CCB/UEL Indoor League
Tower Hamlets College, Hackney Community College and NewVic College all collected a win each in the latest round of Essex CCB/UEL Indoor League fixtures at UEL’s SportsDock.
Tower Hamlets faced the University of East London and got off to a relatively slow start.
UEL posted a more than useful 103-4 from their 10 overs, with Scott Silver (19), Fraser Watson (26), Michael English (14) and Charlie Cotton (14) all contributing well.
Muhammad Shahalom (1-15) had the best Tower Hamlets bowling figures, before also starring with the bat as Tower Hamlets romped home in their run-chase with 10 balls and four wickets to spare.
Shahalom top scored (28), while English (1-27) took the only wicket for UEL.
Hackney edged past Bsix College in a low-scoring affair, after only managing to score 64.
Mukhtiar Jan (1-15), Hassan Shah (1-34) and Wafi Hikmat (1-15) all took a wicket each.
The total seemed a very gettable one, only for Bsix College to collapse to an embarrassing 42 all out.
Opener Jan (18) offered some kind of resistance for BSix, but Soyfur Rahman (2-5) settled the match with the final ball of his only over.
Tower Hamlets were unable to make it two victories from two games, as they were beaten by NewVic College.
NewVic batted first and posted 130 from their 10 overs, with Azlan Bhuiyan (48) and Arafat Bhuiyan (43) both falling just short of half-centuries.
Tower Hamlets never looked like they would get the mammoth 131 required for another win, falling 45 runs short as they were all out for 85 in the ninth over.
