Last seasons Hackney Gazette Cup runners-up Bancroft put that memory to rest with a thumping 4-2 win over Comet in the final at Leyton FC on Friday night.

Bancroft took the lead after 30 minutes through Justin Weatherman and it was 2-0 10 minutes later when Khalid Jama doubled their lead.

United dominated the second half and were three to the good when skipper Temi Oloto found the net, before Comet pulled a goal back through Danney Foley.

Man of the match Jama scored his second of the game in the 75th minute before Ulus Izzett struck a late consolation for Comet.

Ibby Ranks scored a hat-trick while Maurice Byfield hit a brace, with Ivan Clement scoring for Reds.

Cosmopolitan kept their Divison Two promotion bid alive after beating Jay Cubed 6-4. Richard St Clair hit a brace, with Liam Patrick, Jason Brown and Darnyl Stanley also scoring, while Justin Leonce, Jason Harley and Simon Matson replied for Cubed, who finish mid-table.
