Docklands Karate Club s 18-year-old Roxanne Nauth-Misir was delighted after passing her black-belt and won an international full-contact tournament involving fighters from Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland and Holland

Docklands Karate Club's 18-year-old Roxanne Nauth-Misir was delighted after passing her black-belt and won an international full-contact tournament involving fighters from Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland and Holland.

Her 16-year-old sister Alex came third in the female section of the British "Clicker" point-scoring championships held at Reading.

Docklands also had another champion in 17-year-old old black-belt Chris da Costa.

Da Costa, successfully defended the cadet title (16 to under 18) he won last year winning all five fights.

He was also busy two weeks earlier coming second in the Belgian National Full-contact Championships.

Yellow-belt Yasin Chowdhury, who is 12, also did extremely well to come second in the boys low grade section, as did 15-year-old Emilis Zajanckauskas, who came third in the boys high-grade category.

Lastly, Docklands main instructor Nick da Costa was promoted to sixth dan by Steve Arneil, ninth dan for his knowledge and contribution to kyokushin karate.
