Millwall Albion are on course to complete a stunning treble in their debut season in the East London Sunday League

Millwall Albion are on course to complete a stunning treble in their debut season in the East London Sunday League after claiming pole position in the Division Two title race.

The Isle of Dogs club, who have already reached the finals of both the Jubilee Cup and the Dick Coppock Cup, claimed top spot in the league last weekend following a 4-1 triumph over former leaders EFY.

And Millwall will be virtually assured of the league title this weekend if they defeat title rivals Stoke Newington, who had looked overwhelming favourites to be crowned champions just two weeks ago.

But the Hackney outfit have imploded in the past fortnight, suffering a 3-1 loss to promotion outsiders Springfield last weekend, having surrendered their unbeaten record to EFY a week earlier.

Springfield's success has kept the Clapton club's faint title hopes alive, though EFY's defeat has put the former leaders out of the running.

Division One champions East Moore rescued their unbeaten league record in the final few minutes of their clash with mid-table Holloway.

East Moore appeared destined for a first league defeat in their final match of the campaign when the Stepney club trailed 3-2 late on, but a dramatic leveller earned a point and preserved their record.

Young Prince, who have struggled all season, picked up a point following a plucky 1-1 draw against Leyton Trades, while the clash between Queensbridge Rangers and Hackney Downs B also ended all square following a 3-3 draw.

The sole scheduled Premier Division clash did not take place after Rolls Park failed to fulfil the fixture. Beaumont International were handed maximum points for the match.

In the cup competitions, William Fitt Lions won a place in the East London Advertiser Hospice Cup semi-finals following a 1-0 extra-time win over Division Three rivals Besiktas.

The John and Christopher Egan Memorial Cup quarter-final between Arbour Athletic and Clapton Rangers produced a five-goal thriller, with Stepney's Arbour progressing to the last four of the competition after a 3-2 win.

Two goals from Leroy Kemai and a Nick Fautley effort took Arbour into the semi-finals, where they will meet Premier Division outfit Crownfield.
