Sporting Bengal United welcome Waltham Forest to Mile End Stadium on Saturday hoping to bounce back after suffering a heavy loss to Ilford last weekend.

Foxes visited Bengal hungry for points and came away with an emphatic 5-1 victory in the Essex Senior League, despite Shahed Ahmed netting a consolation for the home team.

Basement boys Bengal were hoping to respond on Tuesday night, but their match away at Hullbridge Sports was called off due to an unplayable pitch at Lower Road.

They will look to start picking up points again this weekend, though, and take advantage of Forest’s current poor form as they were smashed 6-1 by Barking on Saturday.

With just four points to their name, Bengal desperately need to start moving up the table.

Tower Hamlets travel to Coles Park to face league leaders Haringey Borough and will be boosted after Stansted shocked the north London outfit on Tuesday beating them 1-0.

The youthful Hamlets were heavily beaten by Sawbridgeworth Town 5-1 in the league last night at Mile End after visiting Basildon United last weekend and suffering a 4-1 defeat.

Adetayo Osifuwo was on target for the visitors on Saturday , but they came back to Mile End with no reward for their efforts.

But following Haringey’s midweek defeat, just their second in the league this campaign, Hamlets might fancy their chances of causing another upset and taking some points off the title hopefuls.
