The new National League season begins on Saturday, with Leyton Orient and Dagenham & Redbridge both on the road on the opening day.

Justin Edinburgh takes his O’s side to Greater Manchester to face title favourites Salford City.

The O’s will be looking to rivals the Ammies for promotion this term and know an opening-day success will be a signal of their intent this campaign.

Daggers, meanwhile, make the comparatively short trip to last season’s beaten play-off finalists Boreham Wood.

It’s been a summer of change for Daggers, with Peter Taylor taking over from John Still in the dugout and a host of arrivals and departures with regards to the playing squad.

The start of the new Premier League season for West Ham United is still a week away, but the Hammers themselves have also been busy this summer.

They have a new boss in Manuel Pellegrini and a host of new players looking to take the club to the next level.

All this, plus the start of the new Essex Senior League season and some restructuring in non-league football, is discussed on this week’s East London Football podcast.

Matt Withers is joined by George Sessions and Ned Keating to chew over another week in east London football.
