Tower Hamlets currently six matches unbeaten in the division, but set for more tests this week
Sporting Bengal United will be aiming to halt their recent slump when they host Ilford at Mile End Stadium on Saturday.
Imrul Gazi’s team lost again in the Essex Senior League last weekend, this time against Enfield.
A poor first half saw them trail 3-0 at the break and although Bobby Redwood pulled one back for Bengal, they fell to another defeat and remain 21st in the table.
Bengal will hope to bounce back when Ilford visit, before they travel to Eton Manor next Wednesday (November 9).
Tower Hamlets impressive recent run will be tested once again this weekend, but they will be full of confidence after two draws over the past seven days.
Ade Abayomi’s youngsters visit FC Romania on Saturday ready for a challenge, with their hosts having won their last three matches and scored 14 goals in the process.
But Hamlets have put together a more than respectable set of results themselves since losing to Redbridge on October 1.
The Mile End Stadium club are unbeaten in six games in the division, after two creditable draws this week.
Waltham Forest made the short trip to Hamlets on Saturday and were winning 1-0 at half time, but Sergio Sheymz equalised in the 70th minute to earn a share of the spoils.
Abayomi’s team travelled to high-flying Basildon on Tuesday but despite a first-half brace from Germaine Agymeng, were trailing 4-2 at the Stuart Bingham Stadium.
But O’Neal Rowe scored twice in the final 20 minutes to give Hamlets a point following a thrilling 4-4 draw.
After travelling to FC Romania on Saturday, Hamlets host struggling Haringey & Waltham next Monday.
