Barkingside suffered a 2-0 defeat to St Margaretsbury to leave them 17th in the Essex Senior League table.

Goals from Charncey Dash and Phillip Lowen sealed the three points for the visitors at Cricklefield Stadium and left Side still searching for their first victory of the season.

Michael Walther’s side face a difficult test against local rivals Redbridge on Tuesday evening as they look for that win after picking up three draws and two defeats in the opening month of the season.

Elsewhere, Tower Hamlets suffered a 5-2 defeat to Sawbridgeworth Town on Friday evening.

AJ Ashanike’s side took an early 1-0 lead thanks to Elias Tackle but then Sawbo netted three times to make it 3-1.

Simon Bamidele then scored to make it 3-2 but the fight back didn’t amount too much as the hosts scored twice more to seal a 5-2 win and bag the three points.

Barkingside: Brown, Hunwicks, Jones, Karrer, Matthews, Morisi, Ngegba, Pibworth, Santos, Taylor-Reid, Thompson.
