Archant

Clapton and Woodford Town had to settle for a replay in the FA Vase after the sides drew 1-1 in the first qualifying round of the competition at the Old Spotted Dog.

Visitors Woodford took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break but the Tons managed to nick a late equaliser after being awarded a penalty when, although the original effort hit the post, the rebound was slotted into the back of the net.

The two sides will have play once again but this time at the Harlow Arena where Woodford are currently playing their home matches.

Elsewhere, Ilford crashed out of the competition by losing 2-1 to Haverhill Borough, despite a consolation goal from Yemi Adelani at the New Croft.

Tower Hamlets also suffered cup heartbreak as they lost 3-2 to Langford and will have to focus their attention back on the league and other cup competitions.

James Todd scored the late winner for Langford to progress into the second qualifying round of the cup competition.
