A festival of football was witnessed at Powerleague Shoreditch as Neymar Jr's Five returned for its London qualifier.

After a hatful of exciting matches at the regional qualifier, King K5s triumphed and will now go on to the National Finals later this year.

Kings K5s have been playing together since 2014 and that told as they were flawless on their way to winning the tournament.

Playing some lovely, flowing football, they conceded just one goal all tournament and ended up cruising to a 5-0 win in the final.

With their spirits high, Kings K5s will now travel to Birmingham in May to challenge the best five-a-side teams the county has to offer.

Winners of the national final in Birmingham will then go onto Brazil to take on teams from 62 countries around the world and meet the man himself, Neymar Jr.

“We are all massively happy. This tournament was another opportunity to showcase our talent on a national stage,” said Kings K5s captain Helge Orome.

“We’ve built up a big reputation through various successes at tournaments like Nike Last Stand, Adidas Tango League and even in America.

“Heading to the nationals will be very interesting; there are some top teams, but I am sure if we play with the same quality and consistency we have a very good chance of getting to Brazil (for the world finals). We have a very talented group of boys.”

“Meeting Neymar would be an absolute dream — he’s an idol for me!”

Their team certainly has more than enough pedigree to succeed at the nationals and head to Brazil.

Orome himself has represented Ivory Coast at under-23 level, while other teammates have played for the prestigious Nike Academy and one currently plays for Hashtag United, the biggest YouTube footballing side in the UK.

Kings K5s will hope that pedigree proves handy as they tackle the best in the country in Birmingham later this year.

And if the Kings K5s squad are to make it through from the nationals and reach the world stage in Brazil later in the year, they will look back at where it all started at the Powerleague Shoreditch.
