Inter Lucia overcame a two-goal deficit to lift the East London Sunday League's Senior Cup in a thrilling final played at Leyton Orient's Matchroom Stadium

Inter Lucia overcame a two-goal deficit to lift the East London Sunday's League's Senior Cup in a thrilling final played at Leyton Orient's Matchroom Stadium.

The contest was switched to the Brisbane Road venue following a break-in at the League One club's Ive Farm training ground, and Inter's opponents Hackney Downs immediately seemed at home in the 9,000-seat stadium, racing into a two-goal first-half lead.

But Premier Division runners-up Inter fought back after the break and levelled 10 minutes after the restart.

The two sides remained deadlocked at the end of normal time and the clash appeared destined for a penalty shootout until Inter conjured a winner six minutes from time to secure the trophy.

The Division Three Cup final earlier in the day at the same venue marked a farewell to the East London League for two promising young sides.

New North Rangers, who pipped William Fitt Tigers to the Division Three crown, also edged a 2-1 win in the league cup final in an exciting encounter that also saw New North miss a twice-taken penalty.

In the East London Advertiser Cup, Springfield squeezed past Gervic Palace to reach the last four with a 1-0 quarter-final win. The Hackney outfit will meet holders Stratford Juniors in the semi-finals.

Arbour Athletic produced their best display of the season in a crushing win over Crownfield in the John and Christopher Egan Memorial Trophy.

The Stepney side thrashed their Premier Division opponents 7-1 as Leroy Kemai and Nick Fautley both hit doubles, while John Gilroy, Marcus Wheeler and Mickel Oswald were also on target.

East Moore showed similar disdain for top division opposition as the Stepney club's reserve side overcame Beaumont International 9-3 to book a semi-final with Queensbridge Rangers.
