WEST HAM midfielder Valon Behrami is a £7m target for Juventus, according to reports in Italy this week.

Behrami joined the Hammers from Lazio just five months ago but the Switzerland international could now be set for a return to Serie A next month.

Speculation linking Behrami with a return to Italy has persisted for several months, despite repeated denials from the 23-year-old that he wants to quit Upton Park.

But Juve are confident of luring Behrami back to Italy with the offer of a four-year contract worth almost £2m per season.

Hammers technical director Gianluca Nani has previously dismissed reports that the club will cash in on Behrami and last week insisted that the player remained an important part of West Ham's future.

"Behrami is not for sale," Nani said. "The story is totally unfounded and Behrami, without a shadow of a doubt, will remain with West Ham."

If Behrami does decide to quit the club, Sporting Lisbon teenager Adrien Silva has emerged as a possible replacement.

The Hammers are reported to be battling with QPR for the signature of the 19-year-old, who is keen to move to England.

"I know English scouts have watched me," Silva said. "The Premier League is one of the biggest in the world.
