Australian reflects on Yeovil Town defeat and facing former team-mate Ryan Hedges

Alex Cisak believes Leyton Orient have to defend better all over the pitch if they are to start improving at home.

The O’s were beaten 1-0 by struggling Yeovil Town on Saturday – another poor result at Brisbane Road in League Two.

Newport County, Mansfield Town and now the Glovers have all left east London with three points this season after beating Orient by the odd goal.

Andy Hessenthaler’s team have beaten Stevenage 3-0 in the league, but they would’ve expected to have registered more wins in E10 at this stage of the campaign.

“For some reason at home we are losing by one goal all the time. It is either we are not scoring enough or obviously not defending well enough,” said Cisak.

“We’ve not had many clean sheet at home this season so we need to fix the back four, but it is basically a team anyway. We have to defend from the front and as soon as that all clicks we’ll get on a good run.”

The Australian again reiterated his disappointment for the fans and insisted the players are frustrated at their form at Brisbane Road.

He admitted it is hard to pinpoint exactly why Orient keep on struggling at home this season – they’ve lost four of their six matches at E10 in all competitions.

“Obviously we’re all disappointed and the fans are disappointed we couldn’t get a win at home. I’m not sure what else we can do,” said Cisak.

“We just need to work harder and hopefully the next time we’re at Brisbane Road we can get a win and the fans will go home happy.”

The ex-Burnley stopper did get to renew acquaintances with a former O’s team-mate on Saturday, however, as he faced Ryan Hedges.

Hedges spent the second half of the 2014/15 season on loan at Brisbane Road and impressed for Yeovil on Saturday.

Cisak added: “I spoke to Ryan during the week and we had a little bit of banter and I didn’t want him to score. Unfortunately we didn’t get the win, which was frustrating, and it is just one of those things.”
