On-loan Burnley goalkeeper impressed at Spotland Stadium but it couldn’t help Orient pick up three points
Leyton Orient goalkeeper Alex Cisak acknowledged he made some important saves during the 1-0 defeat to Rochdale yesterday, but insisted they meant nothing because they lost at Spotland Stadium.
Ian Henderson fired into the top corner after 66 minutes to earn Dale all three points and leave Fabio Liverani’s team in the bottom four.
But the scoreline might have been more emphatic had O’s on-loan goalkeeper from Burnley not make a world class double save late on.
“Yes I made some good saves, but I am disappointed we didn’t get the result,” said Cisak.
“Again we played well in the first half and we were in the game. David Mooney had a little chance towards the end of the half.
“But second half when they scored we just didn’t create enough chances to challenge them and get the equaliser.
“It is very disappointing from a team perspective and I am happy I played well, but the most important thing is the team and it is disappointing we didn’t win.”
Cisak felt Orient failed to keep the ball as well as they can after Rochdale took the lead midway through the second half.
The 25-year-old wanted his team mates to test home goalkeeper Josh Lillis more before he cast his mind to Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United at Brisbane Road.
“We knew they were a team with a lot of energy and that they pressed a lot,” added Cisak.
“I am not sure what happened second half we just didn’t create enough chances. We didn’t keep the ball well enough.
“Rochdale’s goal was a big blow for us and we didn’t create enough chances to challenge their keeper into making saves.
“That is a big disappointment in our minds and now we have to go to Sheffield United and we have to pick up three points – there is no excuses.”
