The O’s will make the trip up to the Hawthorns with confidence while the Baggies have struggled for wins in recent months

Leyton Orient’s under-18s travel to Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion this evening looking to cause an upset and book their spot in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

Danny Webb’s young O’s make the journey up the M1 and M6 to do battle with the Baggies at the Hawthorns (7pm kick-off).

Orient’s academy team will go to the Midlands with great confidence after a fine run of form.

The east Londoners have lost just one of their last nine matches in all competitions, which was a narrow 2-1 loss at Oxford United in the Youth Alliance Cup last Tuesday (November 28).

Since October 21 when they went down 1-0 at home to Stevenage, Webb’s men have defeated Barnet, Southend United and Northampton Town in the Youth Alliance South East Division.

The young O’s have also secured league draws with Dagenham & Redbridge and AFC Wimbledon and thrashed the likes of Hornchurch, Biggleswade Town and Sholing in the FA Youth Cup.

Last weekend, two goals from Ruel Sotiriou helped earn a 2-0 win at Northampton and Orient will be boosted tonight by the likely return of Sam Dalby, who came off the bench for the first-team on Saturday.

O’s will be aiming to keep up their excellent record in the FA Youth Cup this evening with this their fifth game in the competition.

Goalkeeper Arthur Janata has yet to concede a goal in any of Orient’s previous ties in the tournament.

He has played the full 90 minutes in each of their FA Youth Cup wins (3-0 Tower Hamlets, 4-0 Hornchurch, 5-0 Biggleswade and 5-0 Sholing).

Keeping a clean sheet against the Baggies this evening will most likely be a lot harder than in previous rounds.

West Brom are actually on a lengthy run without a win, however, so their confidence is not likely to be too high.

Their last victory occurred back on September 9 – a 4-1 win at Newcastle United – which was eight games ago.

Orient will take belief from that stat and look to put in a better display than they managed in the third round last season where they lost 3-1 at Leicester City.
