Former Leyton Orient manager Andy Hessenthaler will return to Brisbane Road this weekend for the first time since being sacked last September.

The experienced coach first joined the O’s in the summer of 2015 as assistant to head coach Ian Hendon.

Hessenthaler remained as Orient’s number two following Hendon’s departure when Kevin Nolan was appointed as player-manager in January 2016.

It was only a short-lived spell for the former West Ham United captain and in April, Hessenthaler took charge of the first-team for the remainder of the season.

Although the 52-year-old insisted he wasn’t interested in the O’s managers role in May, he accepted the job a month later.

But Hessenthaler found himself out of the door in September after an indifferent start to the new campaign, as he joined the list of many bosses to be sacked by ex-chairman Francesco Becchetti.

This weekend he will return to Orient after being appointed Eastleigh assistant in April and joining him in coming back is Paul McCallum.

McCallum was released by O’s in the summer after two years in E10 and quickly agreed a deal with the Spitfires.

Although the tall forward has missed Eastleigh’s last two games with a bruised foot, he is expected to be fit for Saturday.

The Hampshire-based club have another player familiar with Orient in their ranks too in the shape of Ayo Obileye.

Obileye, a Hackney youngster, started his youth career at O’s before leaving to join Chelsea.

The ex-Orient trio will now return to Brisbane Road this weekend and be keen to earn success against their former club.
