Find out how Sammy Moore, Michael Clark, Sam Alderson, Sam Roach and Josh Doherty have been getting on at other non-league clubs recently
It has been a memorable couple of days for Leyton Orient’s young midfielder Freddy Moncur after moving to Wingate & Finchley on loan recently.
The 20-year-old has joined the Ryman Premier on an inital 28-day loan and was thrust straight into the starting XI on Saturday at Worthing.
Moncur, the son of former West Ham United midfielder John, scored in the 83rd minute before adding another as the north Londoners won 4-1.
He was also in action for Wingate last night in the first round of the Ryman League Cup at division rivals Harrow Borough.
The two Ryman Premier clubs produced an eight-goal thriller at Earlsmead Stadium and it was level after 90 minutes.
A penalty shoot-out followed and Moncur scored from the spot to put his side 6-5 ahead as they eventually triumphed 8-7 to progress to the second round.
Next up for Wingate and the O’s midfielder is a home clash with Tonbridge Angels in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
And then they go back to Harrow on Tuesday for a Ryman Premier fixture and Moncur will hope to enjoy more success.
Sammy Moore also left Orient on loan recently and has forced himself into the Dover Athletic team.
He has played twice for them over the last few days - helping the Whites beat Forest Green Rovers 4-3 on Saturday in the National League before they were defeated 2-0 at Dagenham & Redbridge last night.
Next up for Dover and Moore is a long league trip to recently relegated York City on Saturday.
In the division below – the National League South – Michael Clark played the full 90 minutes as East Thurrock drew 1-1 at home to Dartford on Saturday.
The teenage defender also played the whole match on Monday night as Rocks drew 2-2 at local rivals Chelmsford City.
Clark has impressed for East Thurrock since joining on loan in August and netted in their 2-1 loss at Margate on September 6.
O’s under-18 captain for last season will take on Whitehawk next at Rookery Hill in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
But Sam Alderson’s spell at Cambridge City, of the Southern League Premier Division, has been cut short after the midfielder suffered a broken ankle.
Young goalkeeper Sam Roach has been between the sticks for Essex Senior League outfit Barkingside recently.
He made his second appearance for Side at the weekend during their 2-1 win at Basildon United and will hope to get more minutes tonight when they visit Wadham Lodge.
Roach could be a busy boy over the next week as Barkingside visit London Bari on Saturday before hosting Ilford this Monday in the Essex Senior League.
Meanwhile O’s revealed yesterday left-back Josh Doherty had joined National League North side Altrincham on a month’s loan.
The Northern Irish under-21 international was given his debut against Nuneaton Town last night, but was unable to prevent his new team losing 4-1.
Doherty made be involved again for Altrincham on Saturday when they host Gainsborough Trinity in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
